Bangor Community Theatre (BCT) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and is the oldest community theatre in the Bangor, Maine area.
BCT has over a 60 year history of providing live theatre, musical theatre, and theatrical opportunities to the citizens of Bangor and Eastern Maine as a result of the merger in 1969 of Bangor Civic Theatre (founded in 1951) and the Bangor Savoyards (founded in 1953).
BCT is a volunteer organization whose membership is open to all ages who are interested in any aspect of theatre whether it be producing, directing, acting, singing, dancing, set construction and design, lighting, sound, or creating costumes.
Our mission is to provide opportunities for participation in the theatre arts for all ages and all levels of ability and interest; provide a social organization for those people who share a common interest in all aspects of community theatre; and provide quality, affordable theatre and musical theatre productions to patrons.
Despite BCT's long history in the Bangor community we had never had a permanent rehearsal and performance space. That changed in 2015 when members of BCT and members of Bangor Grange #372 met and began working together. The relationship between Bangor Grange #372 and BCT has since evolved into a partnership where Bangor Community Theatre now has a permanent home at the
historic Bangor Grange Hall located at 1192 Ohio Stree in Bangor, Maine.
